Now let’s see where you use them.Ĭommendations can be traded at the Guild Commendation Trader, found in the Guild Hall as well as major cities like Lion’s Arch. Missions reset once per week and the most you can get out of them is 12-15 Guild Commendations. That is because they are earned only by completing Guild Missions. Guild Commendations is a currency available only to those who are in a guild. Be wise of how you spend your Laurels! They ain’t easy to come by. Other uses involve containers with different tier materials, gathering tools, boosters, equipment containers and WvW Infusions. If you follow the above links, you will notice that mainly you can buy Ascended Trinkets with Laurels. Now, Laurels are used in two kinds of vendors: Laurel Merchant and WvW Laurel Merchant. In a month, you may receive up to 55 laurels if you open all login rewards. Why is that? Because you only get them from login rewards, and trust me, they ain’t that many. When you hit level 80, every time you gather 254.000 XP or use a Tome Of Knowledge you will gain spirit shards. You get some for completing three daily achievements. They can randomly drop from foes at level 80. At first you will think “wow I’m in a real need of Shards”, then by the endgame you will have more than you will ever need, so don’t worry about farming shards. Their main use is for Legendary Crafting as well as Forge-Specific skins. Spirit Shards are tied with the Mystic Forge. So be sure to check in which map lies that material you want, then go there and use up your Mapping Materials! Spirit Shards In time, if you have enough they can be a good way to make some gold or get Tier 6 materials needed for legendary crafting. What these do is that they grant you the next map reward when consumed. There are 6 agents which means you can buy up to 6 of these items per day, for a total of 31.500 Karma. What you want to buy from them is the Pact Scout’s Mapping Material. There are 6 agents around Tyria that change location everyday. It can also be used to buy stuff from Heart vendors and you will probably need a lot of it later in the game if you go for Legendary items.Īnother good use of Karma is the Pact Supply Network Agents. There are plenty of modifiers in order to increase your Karma gain and I suggest that you use as many as you can because Karma is indeed a bitch, and may be hard to farm if you end up using a lot of it.īut where can it be used? Well for starters you can buy Gear with Karma. It can also be gained from consumables that grant you Karma. Karma is awarded for completion of Events, Hearts, Dungeons, Fractals and Raids. Keep an eye out for occasional sales, if you wanna save some gems! Karma They can be used only in the Gem Store, where you can buy account upgrades, convenience items and cosmetics among other things. Some are awarded every 5.000 Achievement Points. In Guild Wars 2, Gems can be acquired in 3 different ways: Not much to say here, you will soon realize that money makes the world go around, and that doesn’t change in Tyria □ Gems Events, dungeons, daily achievements, selling to merchants or the Trading Post, anything you do will grant you gold. It may be used for various stuff, from buying Gear to buying Gems (with Currency Exchange).Įarned from almost any activity in the game. with an API key for your user can give you an idea of the gold costs that will be involved, it’s a nice way to track how you’re coming along.Coin is the main currency of Tyria. It’s a really nice glider, and the immersion from having a backpiece that’s the same as the glider is cooler than I’d realized it would be (keeping in mind you can of course get that from certain gemstore combos for significantly less effort). I also cut down the cost of purchasing the mats for the gift of fortune significantly by using laurel on heavy crafting bags (1 laurel for 1 bag gives you 3 of the required mats, and the drop table for it is -only- the 8 types of mats required for the 2 gifts). I did it casually over about 6 months, and used my login rewards for clovers. You only need to sacrifice one ascended piece of gear to get going – after that I think it’s smooth sailing (there might be a need for one more in the final step?) – but don’t be overly concerned by the recipies requiring X balls of dark matter, because what you’re crafting as you go needs to be salvaged for each next step, and it salvages into a bunch of balls of dark energy. The real time delay is going to be in building your AR up to be able to do the final tier (since you need to do the highest Mai Trin, which is fractal 98), and just saving up the gold/mats to craft everything. The achievements are fairly easy, assuming you have a good group or a dedicated couple friends in a pug.
